Complex Mental Health Conditions, Interventions With Love
About This Service

What to Expect

Severe mental health conditions affect the entire family. Loved ones often find themselves trying to understand changing behaviors, navigate complicated treatment systems, respond to crises, and make difficult decisions while feeling overwhelmed and alone.

Our role is not to replace licensed mental health providers but to help individuals and families navigate the journey with greater clarity, communication, and support. Depending on the situation, that may include intervention planning, family systems coaching, treatment placement, wrap-around case management, or ongoing collaboration with the treatment team.

We also work with families navigating substance-induced mental health conditions, including cannabis-induced psychosis, where understanding the relationship between substance use and mental health can be especially challenging. These situations often require thoughtful coordination among providers while helping families make informed decisions during times of significant uncertainty.

Throughout the process, we help families better understand the illness, strengthen communication, establish healthier boundaries, and create a coordinated plan that supports both the individual and the family system.

Guidance in understanding treatment options, levels of care, available resources, and coordinated next steps.
  3. 03

Not every complex mental health situation requires an intervention, but every family deserves a clear plan.

FAQ

Common questions about complex mental health conditions

Can you help if my loved one refuses treatment?

Yes. Many families contact us when a loved one is unwilling to engage in treatment or does not recognize the severity of their condition. Together, we explore available options, strengthen the family's approach, and determine whether intervention, family coaching, or another strategy may be appropriate.

Do you work with psychosis?

Yes. We support families navigating first-episode psychosis, chronic psychotic disorders, and situations where psychosis may be related to substance use or another underlying mental health condition. These cases often require careful planning, collaboration, and ongoing support.

Do you work with cannabis-induced psychosis or substance-induced psychosis?

Yes. We work with families whose loved ones are experiencing cannabis-induced psychosis, substance-induced psychosis, or situations where it is unclear whether symptoms are primarily related to substance use, an underlying mental health condition, or both. Our role is to help families understand their options, coordinate appropriate care, and navigate what is often a confusing and rapidly changing situation.

Can family systems coaching help even if my loved one won't participate?

Absolutely. Families do not have to wait for their loved one to accept help before beginning their own work. Family systems coaching can help improve communication, strengthen boundaries, reduce conflict, and support healthier responses regardless of whether the individual is currently engaged in treatment.

Do you provide therapy or psychiatric treatment?

No. We are not a replacement for licensed mental health providers. We work alongside psychiatrists, therapists, treatment programs, and other professionals to help families navigate complex situations, improve coordination of care, and support lasting progress.

You don't have to figure this out alone.
