# Meet Gianna Yunker

**Founder, Family Systems Specialist, Certified Intervention Professional**

**Credentials:** CIP · CAI · CFRS · CRS

## Families rarely reach out because things are simple.

Most are navigating addiction, mental health challenges, eating disorders, family conflict, or a major life transition. They are often exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure what to do next.

My role is to help individuals and families make sense of what they are facing, navigate difficult decisions, and create healthier paths forward.

As a Family Systems Specialist, Intervention Professional, Wellness Coach, and Case Manager, I work alongside individuals, parents, partners, siblings, and loved ones to help them better understand the challenges impacting their lives and relationships. While intervention is one of the services I provide, much of my work focuses on helping families strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, navigate treatment and recovery, and create meaningful change within the family system.

## My Philosophy

I do not believe in shame as a clinical tool.

I do not believe families cause addiction, mental health challenges, or eating disorders.

And I do not believe a single conversation is usually what creates lasting change.

I believe change happens when people and families have the support, education, and guidance they need to respond differently. It happens when relationships become healthier, communication improves, and families begin focusing on the parts of the situation they can influence.

I believe families deserve support long before a crisis reaches its breaking point. They deserve practical guidance, honest conversations, and a clear understanding of their options.

> Whether we are preparing for an intervention, navigating treatment decisions, supporting recovery, or working through a difficult life transition, my goal is always the same: to help people move from confusion and reactivity toward greater clarity, stability, and connection.

## Why This Work Matters To Me

My connection to this work is both professional and personal.

I grew up in a family impacted by addiction and generational trauma, and I understand firsthand how deeply one person's struggles can affect an entire family system. I have experienced the fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak that many families carry when someone they love is suffering.

Those experiences shaped my understanding of recovery, relationships, and the importance of family healing. They also helped me recognize that lasting change rarely happens in isolation.

For more than a decade, I have worked alongside individuals and families navigating addiction, mental health challenges, eating disorders, recovery, and life transitions. Before entering the behavioral health field, I spent years in technology and engineering, including executive leadership roles focused on solving complex problems, building systems, and leading teams through change. Those experiences continue to shape the way I work today.

My approach blends compassion with structure, helping families bring clarity and organization to situations that often feel overwhelming and chaotic.

## How I Work

My approach draws from family systems principles, the Love First model, the ARISE® Invitational Approach, years of experience supporting individuals and families through crisis, recovery, and change.

Every situation is different. There is no single formula and no one-size-fits-all solution.

What I offer is thoughtful guidance, practical strategies, collaborative planning, and ongoing support. Whether we are discussing boundaries, treatment options, communication challenges, relapse concerns, family conflict, or long-term recovery planning, I work alongside clients and families to help them create a path forward that fits their unique circumstances.

Recovery rarely happens in isolation. Lasting change requires support, accountability, and shifts across the entire system.

## Common questions

### What credentials does Gianna hold?

Gianna Yunker is a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP), a Certified ARISE® Interventionist (CAI), a Certified Family Recovery Specialist (CFRS), and a Certified Recovery Coach (CRS). She is a member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS) and the ARISE® Network, and she is a certified Soberlink provider. These certifications reflect specialized training in intervention, family recovery, family systems work, and long-term recovery support.

### Where do you practice?

Interventions With Love is based in Ohio, with a second active presence in Pennsylvania. We travel for interventions throughout the United States, and we work remotely with families across all 50 states for family systems coaching, recovery coaching, treatment placement, and ongoing case management. The first conversation is always free, regardless of where you are.

### Are you a licensed therapist?

No, and we're careful to be clear about that. Interventionists and family recovery specialists provide a different type of support than licensed therapists. We coordinate with therapists, treatment programs, and medical providers, we don't replace them. When clinical care is what's needed, we help families find the right clinician and stay connected as that work happens.

### Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. In some cases, clients may be able to submit documentation for partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits, and we can provide detailed invoices or superbills upon request.

Most of our services, including intervention, family coaching, case management, and treatment navigation, are not typically covered by insurance. We are happy to discuss fees, services, and available options during your consultation so you can make an informed decision about what support is right for your family.

### Do we need an intervention to work with you?

No. While interventions are one of the services we provide, many families reach out long before an intervention is needed. We work with families who are trying to understand what is happening, improve communication, establish healthier boundaries, navigate treatment decisions, support a loved one's recovery, or manage a difficult life transition.

If you're not sure what kind of support you need, that's okay. We can explore your situation together and determine the best path forward.
